Stucco Painting
Protect your home from cracking, moisture, and the Minnesota freeze-thaw cycle.
Call (612) 688-3059Stucco Painting in Minneapolis and the Twin Cities
Stucco needs a different approach than siding or wood trim. It's porous, it moves with temperature swings, and in Minneapolis, winter freeze-thaw cycles put real stress on the surface. That's why we use flexible, waterproof coatings built to expand and contract with your home instead of cracking under pressure.
We paint stucco homes across Minneapolis and the surrounding metro, including Uptown, Linden Hills, and the neighborhoods around the Chain of Lakes.
Why Minneapolis Stucco Homes Crack
Stucco cracking is one of the most common complaints we hear from homeowners in this market, and it's not random. Minnesota's freeze-thaw winters cause the moisture inside stucco to expand and contract, which stresses the surface over time. Cracks that aren't addressed can let water in, which leads to bigger, more expensive damage underneath.
- Keeps moisture out of your walls
- Fills hairline cracks before they spread
- Covers stains and discoloration from age or weather
A Fresh Stucco Exterior Adds Real Curb Appeal
Whether you're staying in your home for years or getting ready to sell, a clean, evenly painted stucco exterior makes a strong first impression. Buyers notice cracked or faded stucco right away, and a properly maintained exterior can make a real difference in how your home is perceived on the market.

1Step 1 — Power Washing
Why it matters: Dirt, mildew, and loose paint keep new paint from sticking. We wash the stucco thoroughly before we start, usually a day or two ahead of painting so the surface has time to dry completely.
What to expect: Full exterior wash, hand cleaning on delicate or detailed areas, scheduled ahead of the paint crew.
2Step 2 — Repair and Priming
Why it matters: Painting over cracked or peeling stucco just hides the problem temporarily. We scrape loose paint, handle minor carpentry repairs like caulking, and prime the surface so the new coating actually holds.
What to expect: Loose paint scraped and removed, minor wood and trim repair as needed, a primer made for stucco surfaces.
3Step 3 — Paint Application
Why it matters: Stucco's texture means it needs more than a quick roll-on. We use a flexible, elastomeric coating that bridges hairline cracks and resists moisture, applied first with a sprayer for even coverage, then worked in with a roller so it gets into every ridge and texture in the surface.
What to expect: Everything nearby taped and protected, sprayer application followed by roller back-rolling, a coating built specifically for stucco rather than standard house paint.
4Step 4 — Cleanup
Why it matters: A job site should look better at the end of every day, not just the last one.
What to expect: Daily site cleanup, paint chips and debris cleared from landscaping, final touch-ups before we call the job done.
5Step 5 — Final Walkthrough
Why it matters: We want you to be genuinely happy with the result, not just told the job is finished.
What to expect: A walkthrough with you before we consider the job complete, a chance to point out anything that needs a second look, a finished exterior you're glad to come home to.
